Default Desktop Client cannot connect

Hi,

my Adobe Air Desktop client can no longer connect to the service, it says searching for service... The service is currently unavailable.
The Browser client works without any difficulty.

I have already tried to reinstall the desktop client, I did not however reinstall Air.

What can be the reason for this?

The message indicates that Adobe Air is not able to detect your internet connection.
Do you have any other Adobe Air application installed? If yes please confirm whether its able to connect to internet or not?
Did you make any recent firewall changes? Which OS are you using?

Did you try with any other air app, apart from LogMyTask?

Yes, I tried Tweetdeck. When I try to add my Twitter account, it hangs forever and says "validating". This symptom might be caused by the same connection problem.

I cannot find any connection settings for air. The air homepage does not mention my problem. Is air on a special port? Are there any logs to check? Sorry to bother you with this, I hope you might help me even if it is an air problem.

Which Operating System you have?
You can try the following-
1. AIR uses the connection settings that IE uses. So please verify the connection settings in IE. If you are behind a proxy, ensure IE is configured correctly for it.
2. Try switching off any security software(firewall) you use.

Try the above steps and let us know the result.

I think it was indeed the ie settings that caused the trouble. I once had entered a proxy for proxoid there and totally forgot it later. Can no longer try it, i have a different pc now
